Since we're fans of going out of town for Valentine's Day, the boy & I celebrated over the weekend. We ventured up north to McCloud & stayed in the cutest little B&B around. Here's a little photo-journey of our weekend {image heavy!}.

What's a road trip without a little caffeine? Apparently it didn't affect me because I passed out for a good portion of the ride. Whoops.

Not to be outdone, Glenn took a little nap when we finally got there. We were so tired from our early start!

I knew the room we stayed in was cute just by the website photos, but it was even more magical in person.

The locals recommended we hike down the see the waterfalls which were BREATHTAKING. We had quite the snowy adventure along the way.

It wasn't until later while reviewing all of the photos that Glenn admitted the reason he asked me to stand sideways was so he could zoom in on my butt. {I'll spare you those photos}.

As lovely as the photos are, they really don't quite capture how beautiful everything was in-person. And so in an attempt to give you a live glimpse, I'll leave you with this video I shot on my iPhone 4 of me giving a little tour of the surroundings--and then Glenn interrupting me. RUDE.

Since my birthday fell on a Tuesday and is also shared with another friend in our circle, I decided to hold off on celebrating with the bunch until this weekend; we're going camping! I'm over the moon about it because I haven't been *real* camping {in a tent} in who knows how long. Glenn and I went a little crazy at REI last year when we made a trip to Yosemite so we have a bunch of really nice gear that we can take with us.

We'll be staying Saturday/night & part of Sunday at Collins Lake which isn't too far away from home. My family and I grew up camping there and it turns out so did Glenn & his family which means we probably played together on the beach when we were kids, unbeknownst to us that years later we'd fall in love & be back where we started at the lake {awhhh}.

A bunch of family & friends are joining us & I'm super stoked to swim, camp out under the stars, sit around the fire, eat lots of yummy food & DEFINITELY a lot of these;

I realize that just a few short weeks ago I was insistent that the sun come out and play. But this week it has begun to considerably cool down & it's got me jonesin' for my favorite of all seasons--Autumn, which is just around the corner. Something tells me September & October this year will be absolutely gorgeous. Some Autumn-inspired things I can't wait for are...
