I was tagged by miss Amy to participate in Sportsgirl's Make Believe project. The questions looked like fun, so here we go!
As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I had a brief stint where I wanted to be a ballerina {mostly due to the fact that I was taking classes} but the thing I remember REALLY wanting to be was an actress. Most kids were into watching cartoons on Nickelodeon as where I was swooning over the dramatic acting in Spanish soap operas and teenage dramas. Do any of you remember Swan's Crossing? Oh man.
In the summertime my sisters & I would write & rehearse plays and act them out for my mother when she got home from work. We'd have a glass of iced tea ready for her when she walked through the door, had her sit down & watch our performances. Of course I was always the lead ;)
Did you make this dream come true or did you change your mind?
I guess you can say I made some feeble attempts. In high school I took Theater for 2 years. My freshman year I boldly auditioned for the school play--Romeo & Juliet. I remember standing under the hot stage lights, surrounded by my peers; terrified. I for SURE thought I'd done horrible but to my surprise was cast as a Lady of Verona. I got to wear a fancy Renaissance era gown, make tons of new friends & be part of a real, live theater company. It was really fun.
Although I continue studying really hard in school I became more interested in teenage girl things {boys & shopping} & the appeal of becoming an actress just sort of died away for me. Looking at Hollywood nowadays I don't know if I'd have the stomach for it anyway. Although, I think a reality series of Glenn and I's life, a la Sixty Days would be a hit.
What is your fave childhood memory?
One of my favorite childhood memories is all the parties we would celebrate as a family--birthdays, weddings, holidays. They all usually happened in our backyards where every house had a swing set. Dozens of my cousins & myself would play out there for hours while our parents BBQ'd and made carnitas. After dinner my dad & uncles would break out their acoustic guitars and sing classics; everyone taking turns singing. I always sang the same song, "Los Laureles" by Linda Ronstadt. It was not uncommon for one or all of us kids to fall asleep right in the middle of all that magical music. I truly miss those days.
The biggest dream you have right now?
My biggest dream right now is to make PizzaCupcakes a success. I'm on a mission to flee the cubicle once & for all and so I'm really banking on my freelance career being a major part of that.
Something that's also been on my mind a lot lately is having a family. Obviously not right now, but it is something I know that I definitely want in the future--to be a wife & mother & experience what my own mother has taught me.
Your summer must-have pick from the current Sportsgirl range?
I'm a fan of the Ballerina Dress. It's perfect for both summer and fall because you can style it up or down depending on the season. You see, some dreams don't have to die :)

Well that was fun! I think I'll tag Lauren, Diana & Betsey J next <3
