I’m half Mexican, half chimpunk

So good news, I’m not dead.

My oral surgery went smoothly and here I am, resembling a chimpunk.

Ok, I’m kidding. I’m srsly not that swollen. I used cold compress all day on/off yesterday and if anything I’m just a little tender–no bruising luckily.
The actual surgery was pretty surreal. My doctors were running behind so I was sitting in the dentists chair hooked up to machines monitoring my vitals and hooked up to an IV drip, for about half an hour. I swear I was getting so bored I actually started calculating my breaths/heart rate in order to draw little pictures on the monitor screen. I know right, I’m a huge nerd. Later on, an assistant came in and strapped some sort of nose covering over my face and informed me it was oxygen to get me started. A few minutes later the dentist performing the actual surgery came in, introduced himself as Dr. Morris, said “it’s showtime” and…that’s all I can remember. Srsly. It was quite odd. I hardly remember waking up either. Earlier while sitting in the waiting room I had seen other post op oral surgery patients get wheeled out in a wheelchair to their cars and apparently so did I but I have no recollection of that. The first thing I remember after waking up is sitting in Glenn’s car on the way home. Triiiippy dudes. So that was my first experience being put under anesthesia.

Today is day two of healing. I’m able to brush my teeth & use a warm saltwater rinse today. Yesterday all I could do was lay in bed and spoon mashed potatoes into my mouth. Oh, and of course pop my vicodin pills like candy and watch True Blood. I even made a joke about it. Glenn’s been a trooper about everything too. He was my PODD (Post operation designated driver) after the surgery and has also been waiting on me hand & foot, asking me if I need anything, offering kisses on the forehead, grabbing me a chocolate pudding from the fridge, etc. I’m lucky, I know this.

Thank you all for the well wishes and support, it truly means a lot to me. And don’t worry, I’ll be back to my usual sassy self in no time. With some exciting news, perhaps ;]
