I’m excited to share with you all a brand new feature here on the blog called, Food for Font in which I explore a unique kind of food pairing…with fonts! Food for Font features typography inspired dishes and I’ll show you where to get both the recipe and the typeface.
The first installment showcases delicious quinoa cakes I made for dinner the other day and the brilliant typeface, Brioche by Jessica Hische. I discovered the quinoa recipe via Pinterest while meal planning for the week and after falling in love with Allie‘s use of Brioche in her branding it it me that the two totally go hand-in-hand. If you’ve cooked with quinoa before, you’re familiar with the little ring that forms around the grain once fully cooked. Don’t the swashes in Brioche remind you of that same detail? For me, it does. Especially in the letter, “i.”
Pretty, right? It’s perfect for wedding invites or maybe a vintage-inspired graphic design project. The cakes were a hit too; my favorite part is the lemon zest which really sets off the flavors. And so healthy! I’ll be making them again soon.
