I have a confession: I'm not really a fan of Pinterest. Well, let me rephrase, I wasn't a fan for a long, long time. For me, it was decidedly overwhelming and my account laid dormant and neglected. Until today.
I'm in the process of redesigning our bedroom and decided creating a board for collecting all of my inspiration would help me stay more organized. Check it out. I've already got the lovely pillowcase and next on my list is that pintucked duvet from Target. How gorgeous is that? I originally had my eye on this one from West Elm but being able to drive to a Target store and not have to pay shipping equals a win, in my book.
The theme I'm going for is a simple, clean feel with woodsy accents and a muted yellow + gray color palette. I love decorating, and I'm looking forward to creating a fresh, new space for my love & I. Don't forget to add me on Pinterest!

I’m so excited to see how this turns out! I just redesigned my office, but I’m dying to work on our bedroom. I love your idea of simple and clean with the woodsy accents. I think it’s going to be perfect!

This sounds lovely. I wish I liked decorating or had any talent for it. I’m all, “Solid colors & stuff on the walls!” Nothing matches.

LOVE that you posted this bedroom makeover, and I think it will be absolutely adorable. I am going to be decorating a house in June (after I get married) and I am in love with the West Elm bedding. I am excited to see your room done. I’m sure it will be lovely. Check out my bedroom inspiration on my blog :)

Be careful with the Target knockoff comforter. I have it (the one with the buttons, right?) and I’ve accidentally pulled off a bunch of the buttons just from sitting on the bed. It usually happens when I’m sliding around trying to find a comfortable spot to sit with my laptop.

I love that duvet so much! I might have to look at it next time I go to Target. I have really been wanting to redo my bedroom lately, and add more simplistic decor and modern pieces in with all my vintage. Dear ol’ Pinterest is my new addiction, I just started actually liking it about a month ago! Haha!

I feel like there’s a time and a place for things like pinterest…obviously this is your time :) I was kind of the same way about it but I like using it to track my tattoo ideas, and clothes/shoes I want. :)

I would love if all of those things pictured made up my bedroom. The colours and style are great! Our bedroom needs some major love…we’re working on it! Stoked to see your final outcome.

LOVE the color combo Liz!
Sometimes I love Pinterest, sometimes I hate it. Depends on the day. It’s such a darn time sucker!

YAY! I love when I hear that a fav blogger of mine is joining Pinterest. It’s really such a fun and inspiring site! Anyway, LOVE the theme y’all are going for. Jen and I also want woodsy accents in our bedroom!
Those candles and that duvet are my fav. Love ‘em!

Wow! I am redoing my bedroom right now as well and I’m looking at the exact same colour scheme. My boyfriend and I are going to design and build a platform bed with four drawers under it (fingers crossed! this is a mighty big task) using natural wood. I also want to replace the duvet cover and get pillow cases to match. I *almost* bought that same duvet cover last week when west elm was having their white sale but couldn’t bring myself to spend the $$. I’m in Toronto so we don’t have target so I’m still on the lookout for something white or cream, and elegant without being fussy or girly.
Looking forward to seeing your progress! I will be blogging mine as well.

Like you, I wasn’t into Pinterest either until recently. Now I’m hooked! Happy decorating!

I second the comment about being careful with the duvet cover. I bought it in the purple shade. It has a satin-like lining that makes the duvet slip around. Our duvet does not have loops on the corners to fasten to the cover so, needless to say, it got super annoying having to pull the duvet back up in line with the cover.
On top of that, after only 2 times in the washer/dryer the lining in the cover was absolutely destroyed. It frayed and came apart from the cover itself.
So… while it is beautiful, yes, just be careful if you decide to buy!

Love that pallet! I also love the duvet because I have it too. I have the white one and a year after having that one I got the brown to change up our bedroom a little. (We got a Seattle store a few months back and its a little too convenient). Anyway, my bestie has the target one in the white and its the pintucks aren’t as secure as the west elm ones, they’ve loosened, its pretty noticeably different and she’s only had it a few months. Join the mailing list for west elm, they send coupons ALL the time. Might be worth it :)
