5 Foods 5 Days

Yesterday I posted a photo via my Instagram of the diet I started and many of you showed an interest in wanting to learn more so I figured I’d do a little post about it. A coworker at work told me about it {she lost 10lbs in one week!}, and after a quick google search I discovered this link which outlines everything pretty well. Basically, for 5 days you eat meals limited to 5 foods: eggs, almonds, raspberries, spinach and fat-free yogurt. It doesn’t sound like much but surprisingly the meals do fill me up. Plus, the key is playing around with spices + seasonings. For instance I added red chili pepper flakes and some lemon pepper to my egg scramble, and last night I added lemon and a teensy spritz of raspberry vinaigrette to my dinner salad. These foods are low in calories but high in nutrients. Obviously, its not a sensible diet to maintain on a consistent basis but I’m doing it as more of a cleanse to jump-start cleaner eating habits.

Have any of you ever done this diet? If not, do you think you’d ever try something like this? I’ll be sure to post my results after the week is over. I’d love to know if you decide to do it with me!

Ps; be sure to drink LOTS of water. Plain coffee + tea are okay too, but no alcohol. I guess my fancy bottle of wine from Scribe will have to wait!

I’d be in trouble with this, I don’t like eggs!

This looks super interesting! I’ll have to give it a go. & I can maintain juicing with the berries & spinach! Thanks for sharing, Liz!

I am on day 1 of the Whole30 challenge which is sort of similar to this…and I have had the worst migraine, apparently from just not drinking coffee/not having any sugars. I did this to cleanse and reboot and also to jump start healthier eating like you said. You might want to try it…it sucks so far haha but I’m only a day in….and you can eat a lot more than what you are now ;)

Curious to see how this goes for you. The thing with losing weight really quickly is that it’s easy to gain back quickly too

I have friend who do crossfit/eat paleo and have done the Whole30 challenge. I would definitely love to try that at some point, it seems like if I plan my meals in advance it would be a lot easier. Speaking of, don’t you hate how expensive it is to eat healthy?! Srsly pisses me off.

Good luck to you, though! We got this. <3

I did the Eat to Live/Fuhrman diet and I loved that diet. This one sounds really good, I’d love to try it after baby comes. I think taking care of yourself takes a lot of discipline and I’m excited to see where your commitment and journey takes you. One day at a time!

I think it being a quick 5-day diet is helpful and a good starter diet for me. If you try it I definitely want to know how it goes for you!
